Spring 2009
The
Knights are proud to announce that Fr. Jean-Marie "Fritz" Ligonde
attended a 1st Degree Exemplification ceremony on May 6th with Deputy
Grand Knight John Borgese and is now a member of the Knights of
Columbus. He was presented a Council hat as he was congratulated by DGK
Borgese (Fr Fritz Congrats.jpg). Fr. Fritz will now serve as the KofC,
St. Finbarr Council #14203 Chaplain.
In
addition to donations for the Culture of Life Fund ($350.00), the
Vocations Fund ($270.00) and the Wheelchair Foundation ($1000.00), the
Knights contributed $6,000.00 to the Catholic Faith Appeal in the name
of St. Finbarr This last donation was presented to Fr. Fritz by GK Tom Mulvey
and Treasurer Otto Kern.
As a result of the spring 2009 annual Tootsie Roll Drive, our Council was able to contribute over $3,000.00 to needy local charities. In addition to a donation made to the Florida Special Olympics, Grand Knight Tom Mulvey made the following presentations.
At
Eden Family Services of Florida (Naples), a $1,000.00 check was
presented to Executive Director Armando Galella and Asst, Dir. of
Education Staci Thompson
St.
John Neumann Principal Danny Dennisen, along with next semester's Senior
Class Officers, accepted a Check for $746.10 for the schools program for
those with learning disabilities
At
a bowling party for participants of the Foundation for Developmentally
Disabled (Collier County), a check for $1,000.00 was presented to
President John Maloney (CC Foundation DD.jpg).
