St. Finbarr Council Knights of Columbus was chartered in 2007 and is one of more than 13,500 councils located throughout the world. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest and most dynamic Catholic fraternal organization and exists to promote the welfare of its members, their families, the Catholic Church and the larger community, especially those in need. It is active in the promotion of vocations, the dignity of human life and assistance for the disabled.
Our Council sponsors charity and social events throughout the season and meets once per month from September through May on the first Wednesday of each of those months. Each year the Council has raised over $13,000 for various charities. One of our primary goals is to raise funds to support St. Finbarr's Catholic Faith Appeal drive and to help our Catholic community become a viable parish. Our annual Tootsie Roll Drive collects donations for people with developmental disabilities (Autism, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, etc.).
Catholic men 18 and over are eligible to join. Current and former members of northern Councils are also eligible to transfer to St. Finbarr Council. Dues are $30 per year.
Why you should be a Knight:
+Your personal involvement will provide opportunities for service to St. Finbarr, to our community and to the less fortunate.
+You will enjoy a sense of belonging to an organization that shares your religious beliefs, brings together like minded men joined in a common cause and offers opportunities to develop friendships and your faith.
+Your concerns for your family and your retirement years can be addressed through the Knights' financial/insurance plans.
+You will share in the sense of pride all Knights feel in knowing that you are helping the Church, your fellow man and the promotion of traditional family and human life values.
